Great article, I just given this onto a co-worker who was doing a little research on that. And he in fact purchased me lunch because I discovered it for him

This is something I have never took into consideration, but it definitely makes sense. The only problem for me, is I have lots of blogs and it would cost me thousands to register each one for 10 years.
I really do need to sell some and concentrate on the money makers.

I was doing seo for a couple of years now and always registered all my domains for only one year. Not that I did not have the money to register for longer period , I just I did not think that even matters. If some people like yourself are checking the domains for expiration date, and it also might be one of the seo factors I better start thinking in terms of 5 year registrations.
Thank you for the well written article.

I agree that sometimes it is better to buy a domain that has already been around for more than 2 years than to have a new domain for ranking purposes.

A very good article and I would agree with all of it. When I speak to people and clients this is actually something that people do not actually think of as one of the basic SEO tactics.
Even speaking to some of the big SEO companies, they fail to mention this.
