If you’re in the Toronto business community, you should check out the 5th Search and Social Rank Symposium. Each of the first four events have been great evenings of food, information, networking and good times. The symposiums have become known for giving out a lot of useful info in a short period of time.
Guests will be exposed to 20-minute talks with 10-minute question periods about SEO, email marketing, social media and community management. Here the speakers at the latest event:

Nikki Fotheringham
Nikki will discuss how she grew an online community around an eco-friendly blog greenmoxie.com.
Rob Campbell
I’ll say this right off the bat, if you don’t attend the event for me, at least come watch Rob! He’s entertaining and always has great ideas to share. He’s a veteran link builder who started in the trenches at LifeCapture Interactive back when Geoff Whitlock was President of this groundbreaking innovative digital agency that was doing some very creative stuff. Rob has the easy job of talking about the company’s success and blogging about their clients, and then things got more interesting when Arlene Dickenson of Venture Comumunications bought the firm, and Rob had to clear out his desk and take his ideas and processes with him.
He went rogue and started SMOJoe.com which helps companies with SEO and contests. One of his first customers was WellpathClinic.com which is still found atop Google today for “natural medicine clinic” searches in Toronto. Rob designed and launched a photo contest called Natural Medicine Plants and build a photo repository using other people’s images. Innovative strategies like these are what he’s all about.
