I had the pleasure of speaking at WordCamp Montreal this past weekend. I presented a unique talk on inbound marketing. (Actually I presented 3, since the other SEO speaker never showed and so I spontaneously gave his talk on the fly, and was then asked to be on a “How do I make money with WordPress” panel!). My main talk’s focus was on the convergence of SEO, content marketing, and WordPress.
Here are the slides.
I created most of this presentation from scratch with just a few slides borrowed from previous talks. It was 95% brand new speaking material, focusing on a hot trend: Content Marketing. It was originally about 3 hours long and I painstakingly cut it down to 45 minutes. There’s a lot to be said for how I used the combination of WordPress and guest posting as a the future of SEO and content marketing. The talk also discusses social media optimization (SMO) and web analytics (including webpage heat maps and click tracking).
Since so many people were floored (in a good way!) by what I had to say, I will continue to publish blog posts on the topic. I’m sure I’m tapping into a large audience that is hungry to learn more about these areas.

Hey Brian, In my opinion WordPress is the Best. It’s very user friendly and has a lot of other features which makes it way ahead of others. Thanks a lot for sharing this post.

Excellent post and even better recommendations. As a business owner growing a community, I can say that the best way to build page rank and traffic is engagement of the users. And this is created one post at a time. Creating a great blog is more of a marathon and less of a sprint
