Montreal is a major hub for Internet-related activities including web design, marketing, and especially technology and gaming development.
Here’s a list of some of the more popular conferences, meetings, and “camps” that you can attend on a fairly regular basis.
Running a periodic ( monthly/quarterly/annual) meeting is a major task and as a result, some will stop from time to time. New conferences are continually appearing as a great idea in one city takes off. In fact, many of the conferences below actually originated in other cities and these are simply the local chapter.
Note that keeping lists like this up-to-date is very time consuming so if you see an event missing or one that needs corrections, please feel free to add it in the comments below. Also, I have listed the more prominent meetings. There are many others that take place from time to time so be sure to ask around and network!
Social Media Breakfast
This event is typically held on a monthly breakfast. A couple of speakers are invited to discuss various topics related to social media while you eat breakfast. Many people who attend are business people from the Montreal community who want to learn about social media.

This is a great little conference for people interested in WordPress. This is all things WordPress, meaning that you will hear talks about everything from using this platform for Internet marketing to custom programming to the Nth degree. There is usually at least one party associated with this event that is worth attending. Tickets are very cheap and you get a lot for the admission fee. The Montreal WordPress community also holds several events during the year (some are meet and greets, others are more technical/formal).
